Ensign 318 Versatoil versus Moisture We call your attention to certain facts concerning Ensign 318 Versatoil, which are becoming increasingly important due to the extreme heat developed in modern machinery and also due to condensation (or sweating) of rapidly cooled machinery. Our product has the unique ability to pull out moisture in an oil and to cause that moisture to be nonrusting and nonsludge forming.

Versatoil will pull out and neutralize half its weight in water. We do not consider this single fact important, but it indicates the ability of Ensign 318 to handle a much larger quantity of moisture than it will ever be called upon to accept.

This is not an emulsification action. Ensign 318 will not pick up and hold moisture. What it does is pick up, neutralize, and drop out the moisture immediately upon cessation of agitation in the engine.

Consequently, Ensign 318 Versatoil as an additive to gasoline or to oil will tend to tie up loose acids formed by decomposition of fuel and lubricant, neutralizing these acids and causing them to lose their potency. These acid traces will be tied up as rapidly as they develop. Inasmuch as moisture and heat accelerate the action of acids, it can be readily seen that pulling out moisture and neutralizing acids can control sludge and rust.
